by Jennifer Weiner

Weiner’s third novel is another tender look into the changing lives of younger women. From the mundane (like when to find time to shower) to the earthquakes of the title, brand new moms from very different walks of life share in the trials and joys of motherhood. Becky, an earthy chef, beautiful Ayinde, wife of an NBA star, and Kelly, a perky event planner, all meet and immediately bond after Ayinde unexpectedly goes into labor following their prenatal yoga class. The reader gets the back story of each woman as she deals with upsets in her own life and envies what she views as the easier, happier, or more perfect situations of her friends—only to find that the grass is not always greener.

Little Earthquakes is a great novel. Its the story of 4 women and their journey of motherhood. One rich, one money hungry, one overweight, and one an actress. The characters are so well written its almost as if they are friends of yours once you start getting to know them.

There are ups and downs, and laugh out loud moments.

It kept my picky attention throughout, even urging me to hurriedly read ahead to find out what was going to happen in the women's lives. It kept me up reading past my bedtime many nights, sacrificing my precious sleep! And made time on the treadmill zoom past.

I hope my next book grabs my interest like this one.

A little overdramatic, but fun. Kind of a guilty pleasure, like watching The Real World or The Girls Next Door...

Love Jennifer Weiner! This book was funny, heartwarming, tender, but with moments of great sadness and yet forgiveness.

I really enjoyed this book, it was about 4 ladies who are pregnant and become friends they are able to help each other out when ever one had a problem. They all come from different backgrounds, live a different way, but hey are all able to connect. there is some sexually explicit things, maybe a paragraph, but other then that it was rated PG

Again, another light read from Jennifer Weiner. But, I did enjoy it overall. The story follows 4 new mothers as they deal with marriage, work, and life in general during their new mommy phases. I believe the author's intention was to debunk the simplicity of new parenthood portrayed in TV shows and books such as "A Baby Story." I feel she got the point across! I leave this book still wanting to read another Jennifer Weiner book and still wanting to be a mother (someday!) :-)

A light fast read. Honnest about being a new mom, the importance of having a support network of girlfriends during this time. New struggling moms should read this to know they are not alone with their frustrations, their tiredness, and the problems with their husbands. Very realistic and honnest book. One of Weiner's best.
