• Darius Jones is the spoiled only child of the self-made millionaire Jada Diamond Tanner, sole owner of Black Diamonds. Jada is a ruthless businesswoman, unscrupulous wife, and overindulgent mother. Darius is rich, young, and attractive, living in an Oakland mansion and one-third owner of Somebody's Gotta Be on Top, organizing, funding, and producing film projects in Los Angeles. When his stepfather takes over the company and suggests that he get a job, Darius is furious. In addition to his family problems, three women claim to be carrying his child. Months before he starts playing basketball at UCLA, he begins dating Fancy Taylor. Fancy is beautiful and vivacious and uses her looks to get money and things from men. When she decides to take control of her life and earn her own money, she wants different things for herself and demands more from others. Darius and Fancy feel that their childhoods were painful and no one can be trusted; when they finally begin to trust one another, the consequences of their past actions interfere with their future.
