Lisa R. U. edited the summary of Highland Velvet Wednesday, August 26 2009.

    • Stephen Montgomery has been rewarded by the King with lands and the laird of those lands for a wife,
not exactly enthusiastic about this matrimonial adventure he puts her off although not necessarily on purpose, He's just not looking forward to dealing with a bossy wife. and thinking she might be pretty homely as well.
When he finally makes to the estates of a friend who offered to house the girl for the king and see to the arrangements for the wedding Bronwyn is more than a little miffed at this arrogant Englishman for putting her off and leaving her at the alter to wait.
When they both finally get a good veiw of each other they atleast have physical attraction going for them, but she has learned to hate the english from stories and seeing the devastation they have left behind. Stephen in turn also has a dim view of the Scots and their so called "barbaric" ways.
Bronwyn knows that Stephen will have to endeavor to win her peoples trust, love, and loyalty. But is she willing to allow Stephen to prove himself to her. And they are both strong willed people in a mans world. and both are nieve to others environment. Can they over come the odds as well as the opposition?

  9. Shelfari

Shelfari edited the description of Highland Velvet Saturday, August 1 2009.

    • Bronwyn MacArran was a proud Scot. Stephen Montgomery was one of the hated English. He came to Scotland as a conqueror, saw her beauty and was vanquished. But still she would abhor him. She owned a temper hot enough to forge the armors of battle or inflame a valiant soldier's passion. Yet still she would resist him. She became his reason to live, his reason to love. And still she would deny him. But while clan fought clan, while brother took up sword against brother, and the highlands ran with blood -- their destiny was made...and this mighty warrior pledged himself to his woman's pride, her honor and her name -- and made of their love a torch to burn through the ages!
