Wow! Tracy Gordon turns out to be someone else, people that Kara rightfully should hate are dropping dead and someone is trying really hard to summon Kara. Plus there's snow! Lots of interesting twists and definitely another book coming in this series, but don't know when.

I'm getting more intrigued by the Ryan aspect of the story, but I'm really not into the writing style. Sticking with the story because of the story line if nothing else. A lot of skipped pages, just waiting for the action to come in and waiting for the story pace to get moving. Am going to wait...

I'm a big fan of the Kara Gillian series so I was really looking forward to reading this. I wasn't disappointed. It was again full of action, mystery and humour.
Kara is a police detective and a summoner of demons and when people that have hurt her start to turn up dead of multiple strokes she starts to look like a good suspect. She has to find out who is behind this before more people turn up dead or she goes to jail.
This ended on a heck of a cliffhanger (as these books tend to do) so I am already dying to read the next in the series!

Wondering through the used book store and what appears before my wondering eyes...??? This book was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! One question... does she have to leave me hanging every time????? I need some closure, like, yesterday!!

This is sort of a transition entry into Ms Rowland's series. All through it we are led down one false lead after another leaving us frustrated that that story just does not get going. This entry keeps the reader hanging all through, but does accomplish the task, via snarky humor (my favorite), bits of history, inter-character action, etc., of developing the cast of characters who will, without question, inhabit the next volume in this series. Because that is what this is, the single longest prequel to what promises to be a fascinating turn in the series story arc. I would almost say that the readers of the series could skip it, but you would miss some good fun and there is a denouement that seems to end this entry. But... see book 5 when ever it comes out to get the answer to the but.

Great plot, great writing, great characters, this book has it all! I hope I don't have to wait a year for the next one.

Just got a tweet from Diana Rowland, herself. She says--and I quote--"And I promise no more cliffhangers. (At least not as bad as that last one)" Proof: lockerz.com/s/172850636
In the end, it's all worth it!
