And yet, for some reason, reading the summary on the back didn't drive me to read it...until this last week. For those who don't know, the gist of the story is that there is a "china doll rabbit" that a little girl...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“It was good, but I think it could have been a little bit shorter. The ending was great.”

It was sad that this girl (I can't remember her name) died and the boy made Edward (or lots of other name) had to dance. When Edward head was broken in 10,000 peices, I was so sad. I was relieved that Edward was back to his real owner and know about love.”

It was the story of a china rabbit who lived comfortably with a young little girl UNTIL he is thrown overboard a ship and embarks on a journey meeting several characters who find a friend and a helping hand in him! Over time, Edward learns what real love is ALL about.
This book would be a great source in teaching about friendships and helping othersin need. ”
“"Once in a house on Egypt Street..."
Edward Tulane is a china rabbit who was hurt alot through out his life. But in the begining Edward was very preciously cared for by his owner, Abilene. Abilene bought Edward silk outfits and a pocket watch for him to keep as a memory. As I read I thought Edward as a real person instead of a china rabbit. But Edward did not care for Abilene as she did for him, and Abliene's Grandmother saw this happening when he was at her house through out the first bit of his life. One day, when Edward was accidently thrown overboard on a ship heading to England, his life turns into a gripping adventure which afterward turned out very sad. He meets extraordinary people. Each naming him differently, each needing him in a different way than he expected it to be. Every time Edward grows a little bit closer to the person he was with, he suddenly gets ripped apart from him companions which he thinks that he wants to go back to Abiline and to all that is familiar. Edward Tulane's heart keeps breaking and mending, healing and then falling apart again. But think about it, don't ALL our hearts do that? But right when Edward thinks that loving is useless if you can't hold on to what you love, another hope comes along. Each time you turn the page, your curiosity climbs like a hike up Mount Everest . Now I can go on all day blabbing about Edward Tulane and his despereate search for the love of somebody, for it's only 10:00 AM right now. But after a while I think I'm going to get tired and I'll bet you'll get even more tired reading this synopsis. So I think I'lll stop here and have you hooked, okay? Well, go on into the bookstore or the library or whatever, and plunge into the gripping tale of Edward Tulane!
