    I love Rulfo's collection of stories and Pedro Paramo, tragically, for me, his only two works. I read them when I was a student at UC Berkeley during the heyday of the Chicano Civil Rights Movement. All of us were reading Rulfo, Octavio Paz, Juan Jose Arreola, and the Mexican historians to learn who we are and where we've come from. I recommend these two books highly.
