• Mack: Ex Military and co founder of the UNDEAD. After leaving the Military, Mack takes the money he had saved while he served and uses it to purchase a few government surplus items. He then meets Banshee and falls in love with the mercenary. Together they pool their resources and form the UNDEAD.
• Banshee: Mack's wife and co-founder of the UNDEAD. Banshee had been a mercenary and warrior long before she met Mack. Along with being a skilled marksman, she is a seasoned ACV pilot and Captain of the Celestial View. Banshee's past is cloudy and because of her love for Mack, she prefers to keep it that way. It is through her discovery of David Brentel on the Atonian outpost that she hopes to make herself worthy of the people she has come to know and care about.
• David Brentel a.k.a. Darkblood: Found alive in the ruins of the Atonian outpost by the crew of the Celestial View, David Brentel becomes youngest member of the UNDEAD. Events set into motion by other members of the UNDEAD will bring David to the point he is currently at in his life now.
• Legionnaire: Before coming to work for the UNDEAD as a crew member on the Celestial View, Legionnaire was a hunted man. His name was known throughout the Solar Empire and synonymous with Death . An event that changed his life led him to the UNDEAD. Mack offered the man who was once known as Direneed the chance to put his past behind him and start anew. As a member of the UNDEAD and with the discovery of David Brentel on the Antonian outpost, Legionnaire begins his new life with purpose.
• Vince Jacobs a.k.a. Grim Reaper: Vince Jacob's past brings the story to where it is today. Vince Jacobs became a member of the UNDEAD and as medical officer on the Celestial View, he used the groups political clout to become the director of The Shield of Health.
• The Professor: Victor Magnus is a scientist who is dying as a result of an accident in his lab. The members of the UNDEAD believed they were taking the dying scientist to the planet Valdorion in search of a cure. It is only when they reach Valdorion, the planet's only city, that Darkblood discovers the dark truth behind the Professor's mission.
• Casey and Mary Evans: Father and Daughter. After the death of his wife, Casey threw himself into his work and unintentionally distanced himself from his daughter. David Brentel falls in love with Mary and accepts Casey as a friend and father figure. As much as he cares about Casey and Mary, David can never let them know who he really is. It is his hope to bring Casey and Mary closer together.
• JR: JR, depending on Banshee's mood, was either second or third in command of the UNDEAD. He and Mack have been friends since serving in the Military together, but occasionally, disagreements on how missions should be handled or even considered put him at odds with Mack and his place in the UNDEAD. Because Jr believed that the mission to Valdorion was a bad idea, he planned to leave the organization after the trip to the distant world. It would have been the last mission he would performed with the UNDEAD.
• Don Grisio aka Preacher: Preacher was once a member of the UNDEAD but due to a terrible accident, he threw away his guns and became a Priest.

• “Once again Casey rose from his seat. “Apparently they didn’t forget. There were other events as well,” he said, pausing to let himself savor a moment of grief, “that lead me to think that what we discovered up north was part of a small attack force.” While standing behind his desk, Casey looked at David with steady eyes “If you were security chief what would you have been doing?” David rose from his seat and gave Casey the same stern look that Mack would have given to anyone while dishing out the cold, hard truth. “Preparing for war.” Feeling like he had been chastised by the young candidate, Casey nodded. “And that is why you’ll end up winning this election.””

• Valdorion: Valdorion City is located on the planet of Valdorion. Until about four hundred years ago the planet's existence was only a myth. Although there are many stories as to how and why the planet became inhabited, the official stance by the Avexian World Senate, is that these people were traitors who escaped justice. They attacked government space agencies and stole ships that carried them to the mythical world. Until then, Valdorion was only known through tales about the healing properties of the planet. Many thought it to be the original Garden of Eden. Today, along with about 650,000 others, it is home to Casey and Mary Evans.
• Avexia: Avexia, also known as the Home World, is home to David Brentel and considered the hub of the Solar Empire. Made up of a race of warriors and conquerors, Avexia's past is a bloody one. It was only when the nations and people of Avexia saw those who escaped to Valdorion as a common threat, that they eventually came together to stand up against that threat. Today, the driving force behind the world economy and the economy of the Solar Empire is the preparation for war against a people they haven't heard from for over four hundred years.
• Solar Empire: The Solar Empire is made up of worlds that have been conquered by the Combined Armies of the Home World, Avexia. Symbolized by the stars in the ribbon of the crest, there are currently 11 planets that are members of the Solar Empire. Although they became members by force, the worlds of the Solar Empire have come to prosper and flourish as a result of their membership.

• UNDEAD: A group of Mercenaries founded by Mack and Banshee. They are based on the planet Avexia, the Home World of the Solar Empire. Quite often they are hired by the world senate to do work that is not ordinarily handled by the government's own military.
• Freelancers: A group of Mercenaries with close ties to the combined armies of the Home World. Founded by Colonel Sebastian, the Freelancers share a loose alliance with the UNDEAD
• The World Senate: Most countries or nations on Avexia are members of the World Senate. There are other countries on the Home World that have either chosen not to be a part of the world government or have not complied with standards set forth by the World Senate to be eligible to become a member.
• The Shield of Health: In order to keep the spread of disease from being a threat from one world to the next, the Shield of Health was put into place to keep track of and monitor the health of each world within the Solar Empire. The Shield of Health sets guidelines and regulations concerning health and travel between worlds, decides which vaccines are necessary when traveling to certain destinations and when to place quarantines on any given society that is a member of the Solar Empire. Vince Jacobs a.k.a. Grim Reaper is the current director of the Shield of Health.
