This book is the first memoir I have ever read that details the emotional roller coaster of depression. I found it endearing and enlightening, bringing me to tears at times but giving me hope for those who suffer from depression. I understand the sickness more, which helps me to understand the people I love and have lost to depression. Also, I had never considered the social stigma for African Americans when it comes to discussing depression, a disease primarily thought of as a "white"...
