Not as good as Gods in Alabama. Good light read.

Jackson writes true southern characters. My only complaint is that there are too few characters to make a realistic town today. Nonny, her main character, has conflicts between loves and her two families which are engaging. The most outstanding feature of the book is the story of Stacia. She sits on the sidelines most of the time but is still the dominant force in almost everyone's life.

Funny yet easy to relate to even if you don't live in a rural area. Everybody's got some kind of crazy in the family!

I had a really hard time getting into the book. I didn't even finish it, but decided I'd try to read it some other time when I didn't have so many other books that I wanted to read.

Funny, quick read. Makes the most dysfunctional family look healthy!

Between if the name of the small, southern town and Nonny Frett is caught - between two fueding familes and between two men. Random violence, history and a story wrapup.
    A fast read.

This was a good summer book choice. Very entertaining, easy to read and it wrapped its loose ends nicely. The story was very believable and I think I saw some of my own family in there.
