“An interesting title that I don’t agree with but I think it suited the book and you’ll find out why that’s the title later on in the book. An interesting book –I liked the initial plot but at times it was a bit weird. I like the birds and stuff, and the Galapagos Islands sound amazing and the stories that Myra makes up for her brothers are piratey but cute in a way. Once again, we have a guy with some issues – and I’m glad she sorted him out… her rant at him was very expressive (haha.) I quite liked this book, but I think it’s mainly for older readers, though its enjoyable. ”

“Girls Don't Fly was a little of a chick flick but also a very cute read. The main character Myra takes care of her family and younger brothers. Her sister is also pregnant. Her boyfriend then dumps her and her life starts to almost fall apart. This is also kind of an adventure because Myra steps out of her normal life and does things she would not normally do. Another way you could describe this is coming of age.”

“What a good book! Myra is, as her sister says, a doormat. She takes care of her brothers, pregnant sister, all while trying to juggle job, and now broken heart. What is she doing trying to win a scholarship to study on the Galápagos Islands?
A good read for girls who sometimes feel like good guys finish last.

“Overall I would say "Girls Don't Fly" is a good book! I would recommend this to anyone looking for drama. This book is about the troubles of this one girl, Myra. She has to compete with her ex boyfriend for a place in college and with that comes many different issues. Not only does her ex boyfriend cause her to have to work hard for the scholarship she is also pretty torn up about the break up. But she does get a new boyfriend that she of course also has drama with along with her family troubles. She even has a pregnant older sister to take care of. In this book Myra has to deal with many situations no one would ever think of having to deal with, at least not at the same time. This book kept me very interested throughout the entire time. I would especially expect any girl to love this book just as I did. It's very easy for anyone to connect to this book because of all the drama of ex's and family drama as well. In conclusion I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a good book with interesting drama.”

“Wonderful story of a girl finding her niche in life and growing into a woman (yes I know this sounds cliche). The neat thing about this story is that it can really inspire young women to take the reigns and really strive for what they have a passion for. It reminds me of the old adage my mother told me growing up, "You don't need a man to define who you are." Great story!”

“I listened to this one in the car and it made me want to drive and drive and drive. I've read Wolves, Boys and Other Things That Might Kill Me, and Kristen Chandler is a bit of all right! Common themes are girls coming into their own, but totally believable as teens. Nature and environment are also addressed. ”
