“I love almost all of Kresley Cole's books and after reading Lothaire I can honestly say that IAD is now officially my favorite series ever! I never liked Lothaire that much in the books and I always thought he was an egotistical bastard but after this book, he has a small comfortable place in my heart.
The beginning of the book itself was slow for me because we were reading about Lothaire's past as a little boy with his mother and how relatively badly he was treated as the 'bastard' son of a king. I did appreciate reading about how he was growing up but I found some parts of it tedious to read.
What made the story so enjoyable was Ellie, unlike the other mates in the previous books she had the most spunk and I loved that and her to pieces. We've never seen anybody standing up to the Enemy of Old and here came little miss hilly-billy Ellie putting the big ole vampire in his place. The dialogue alone between Ellie and Lothaire had me cracking up throughout the entire book.
What can I say, I loved the book and everything about it and I loved that we got to see a different side of Nix that wasn't so bat shit crazy. The cliffhanger at the end left it open for the next book to be even greater so I can't wait for that.”
