“Ms. Wells knows just how far she can go with a plot premise/story arc. This is a very exciting entry into this series and just when we have been through many a harrowing, yet well described, action scene after another, it appears that all will be well... until. After fighting the good fight for six volumes, this sixth volume leaves us on the edge of the precipice, up against what seems to be unbeatable odds when things seem to resolve. Only then does the reader learn that there is one more great battle to be fought in volume 7, which we are told will be the final volume in the series. I see this as a very smart move. Unlike certain authors in this genre who don't seem to know when to quit, like LKH, for example, and is now reduced to writing mostly porn with familiar characters, our heroine, Sabina Kane, will fight this one last battle and head off into... well, that's the question, isn't it? This is an excellent set-up for the end of the series which will accomplish two things: first, it will end an excellent series by an excellent author before it gets tired; two, it will thus free up our superbly skilled author to invite us into another world, another place, another time, take your pick. I look forward to both.”
