  • Pearl Marie Neederman: A small girl who offers Whit and Wisty shelter while Wisty is sick with the Blood Plague
  • Mama May: Pearl Marie's mother
  • Janine: One of the Resistance kids; her status is unknown at the beginning of the book
  • Emmet: One of the Resistance kids; his status is unknown at the beginning of the book
  • Wisteria Rose Allogood aka Wisty: Main character of the book, has a fire ability, brother of Whit Allgood.
  • Whitford
  • Ragan
  • Sasha: One of the Resistance kids; his status is unknown at the beginning of the book
  • Jamilla: The Resistance's shaman; her status is unknown at the beginning of the book
  • Byron Swain: N.O. spy who was presumed to be killed by his Kill Team in the previous book
  • Pearce: The One's new pet, so to speak
  • Mrs. Highsmith: A witch who is/was friends with Whit's and Wisty's parents.
  • Celia: Whit's deceased girlfriend who used to be a Half-Light in the Shadowland, but has since become a Lost One.
  • Whit Algood: Whit has to be my favorite character because he so heroic and is a really caring person. Whit is athletic and soft on the inside. He really cares about his sisters safety more than anything and goes crazy when he hear's about Celia who got captured. Celia is his girlfriend and it infuriates him when he hears or sees about her.
