This is my favourite book of all times right and highly recommend it. My heart was pounding at parts, and I was dying to read more.

A fake ID card is not enough to ensure safety in the post-apocalyptic society that Haddix introduces in book one of the Shadow Children series, "Among the Hidden." Luke has trouble blending in at Hendricks School for Boys, the boarding school where he is sent by the family who sponsored his fake identity. Soon he discovers, however, that he might not be the only so-called "ex-nay" at the school. Can he trust his fellow classmates with his secret? Another suspenseful volume in Haddix's "Shadow Children" series, this story is enjoyable but the pacing of the plot is off, dragging at the beginning and hurtling by confusingly quickly at the end. Recommended as a sequel to "Among the Hidden," not as a standalone work.

Did you read the entire book? Again, Margret Haddix has crafted a sequel that is just as irresistible to put down. I become so engrossed with Luke's plight that I forget about sleeping or taking the dogs out to the bathroom!
What worked for you? I tend to be skeptic of sequels to anything- movies, books, tv shows, but as before, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and characters of Among the Impostors. The story is unique, but not so far-fetched as some science fiction novels.
What didn't work for you? Honestly, I have enjoyed this series thus far and fully understand why these books have become part of the First level English curriculum at my school. Maybe in the next book I will find something I wasn't too thrilled with.
What one thing will you remember about this book a year from now? Luke!! His character plays on every emotion so much that the reader cries or rejoices at every event Luke faces. Haddix created beautifully credible characters.
Overall, Another positive rating for Haddix.

It's not as good as the first one, and I must day that I'm considering skipping it and going on to the much beloved "Among the Betrayed."
