Cast of Characters

  • Eddie: Eddie was an elderly gentleman who worked his entire life at the Ruby Pier Amusement Park and is unhappy with it's results. During his lifetime, he joined the army, fell in love and that's about it. Before he died, he was filled with regret about never fufilling his dreams.
  • The Blue Man: Originally, a normal boy, the Blue Man turned blue by taking silver nitrate, while a child, to calm his nerves. He became a circus freak and, eventually, wound up working at the Ruby Pier alongside the main character, Eddie. He loved the Ruby Pier and took pride in being the one of best circus freaks at the amusement park.
  • The Captain: A life-long military man who was Eddie's commanding officer during World War II. They were prisoners of war together and were at the mercy of Japanese soldiers who starved and tortured them. They had come closer and together overtaken their captors. Throughout Eddie's life he was affected by the war and his commanding officer.
  • Ruby: Her husband was a wealthy man who put his money to good use and built the Ruby Pier Amusement Park in her honor. The park later burned to the ground, taking her husband's fortune along with it making Ruby regret its existence. She had been the reaon the park had been built in the first place and why Eddie and his father had the opportunity to work there.
  • Margeurite: She was Eddie's first love and eventually became his wife. He loved her more than anything and although they were unable to have children, they had a very happy marriage. Margeurite had always supported Eddie and even waited for him while he went off to war. She was the only person that Eddie truly loved and it was what he was remebered for when he died.
  • Tala: Tala is a very young girl who lived during World War II. She is a Filipino girl who lived in the village that Eddie was held captive in. When Eddie gained freedom, she was told to hide in the hut that later burned.
