Didn’t Like It“If you're going to read a book by Susan Jane Gilman, read "Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress." The writing style in this, while still female-empowering, is pretty choppy. She relies too heavily on lists to get her point across.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Yes, it has a liberal slant to it, but that's not a bad thing when you're talking about how gaining or losing weight isn't a big deal - you won't change the world by thinning out your thighs, after all.
This book is a nice "Aw, screw it" to most things that women worry pointlessly about, and a good positive voice to counter that awful one that tells you you're not good enough.
Read it. Read it now.”
“silly girly book!”

Fashion and attitude is nothing new though and having a PHD, a hefty bank account, a great wardrobe and a winning smile should not be revolutionary for any woman in the 21st century!”

Some of the chapters were filled with laughter, others however were boring to me. It had a little to much in the feminist department for my likeing. Although I still think it was a good book.”

It's laugh out loud (and get weird looks) pee in your pants hysterical. I gave one to my sister, and my brother's wife was enjoying it while she was visiting. We both cracked up over the euphemisms for "going solo". My favorite is "going to Disneyland".”
