I love this book! Deeanne Gist is a master at taking her reader to the time and place. I felt like I was really in early Colonial America. And I love the way she weaves in historical insights of daily life. I learned so much (like how they washed dishes). It was one of the most enjoyable history lessons ever! 2 1/2 stars, really. I had hoped for a little comedy/romance a la Austen, but this is a fast and mind candy read. It is a "Christian romance" novel, so I wasn't embarrassed to death to read it, which was nice.

It was a good, fast read. Yes, I also hope they continue Josh's story. I was a little sad when Mary passed. I was hoping in the back of my mind they would end up together.

Very light - for some reason the covers made me think it would be more heavily a historical fiction. It reads a bit more like a "grown-up" romance. Fun - just not what I expected. This begs for a sequel about Josh.

I stayed up until midnight to finish this lovely romantic comedy. I love it when Drew killed Mr. Meanie and Constance thought that it was a act of Love!
