This book provides an interesting look into the day to day operations of one of America's most hated organizations. It also describes in detail how the author, in his quest to become the perfect tax collector finds his humanity slowly eroding away. Filled with dry wit and humor it's worth a read but the book fails to grab the reader's attention primarily because of the author's tendency to digress along various irrelevant tangents. I also found myself unable to empathize with any of the characters which made this book less enjoyable than it could have been. At the end of the day I enjoyed the book for what it was a dark, sardonic memoir which fails to create a lasting impression.

Surprisingly good. Who would have thought a book about tax collecting would be good? Not this guy, but it was.

Interesting account of a former 12-year IRS tax collector.
