  “I wanted to begin a study of the cross and, particularly, the effects of Jesus' Crucifixion on God Himself. This book helps with that and much more. A profound Christological text, well researched, superbly argued and genuinely displaying a passionate love of the biblical Jesus. Cannot recommend this strongly enough.”

  “Excellent book. Found early symbols of Christianity interesting. Stott is great on the atonement, but realize that he is an annihilationalist. (spelling?)”
