  • Mary Lamb: The girl who's lost her memory and has to rediscover herself and the whole of the world again.
  • Prince: The policeman who 'looks after' Mary, yet is hiding a secret of his own.
  • Sharon Botham: Daughter in the Botham family unit, she is prone to drink and 'a good time' (sex). She takes Mary under her wing before any one else.
  • Trev: Trev is a dirty thug who has passionless sex with Mary until she is forced to resort to violence to save herself. He is forced to resort to violence.
  • Mr Botham: The butt of Trev's revenge, and the owner of the home that shelters Mary for a while.
  • Mrs Botham: Allegedly recovering alcoholic, yet always with a drink, she looks after Mary for a while.
  • Jamie: The subject of Mary's ire as she seeks to find herself. He is quite literally punished for being there at all.
  • Lily: One of Jamie's house-mates and ex-lovers.
  • Jo: One of Jamie's house-mates and ex-lovers.
  • Alan: A small-time lover of Mary in the restaurant in which she works.
  • Antonio: A waiter at the restaurant where Mary works. He looks at her while she's on the toilet.
  • Russ: An admirer of Mary, yet too self-conscious about his inadequate endowment to pursue her. He constantly brags about his sex life which is, in fact, all but non-existent.
  • Jeremy: A small boy who lives in the squat with Mary, Alan, and Russ.
  • Wendy: Mother of Jeremy, wife of Alfred.
  • Alfred: Father of Jeremy, husband to Wendy.
