“This was incredibly enjoyable. One of the better 2nds in a trilogy that I've ever read. At first the alternating Then and Now timelines of the chapters felt annoying and jarring but as the plot unfolded it really worked well and built the tension for what was really two stories building to one climax brilliantly. The same great prose from the first book with more character development, a deeper digging into this rather cracked society where the "dregs" fall underneath, and while the large plot twist was rather largely predictable it was well played and leaves me SO eager for the final installment!!”
