- Jack Colclough: Husband to Dee Colclough and father to Naomi and Cole. Is one of the more likable characters - also a main character.
- Dee Colclough: Jack's wife, a main character. Unappreciative, selfish, kind of a dimwit. I found her to be very unlikable.
- Cole: Jack and Dee's 7 year old son. In some parts, he is written to behave much more mature than any 7 year old I know.
- Naomi: Jack and Dee's 14 year old daughter. A spoiled brat who whines too much. Very disrespectful and unappreciative.
- Kiernan: Friend and lover to Dee Colclough
- Donald Massey: A man from Provo, Utah
- Liz: Soldier in compound
- Mike: Soldier in compound
- Mathias Canner: Owner of compound
