Ducky is a cute tale of a small rubber ducky who was tossed from his ship. This picture book has great pictures of construction papers cut outs. It is based on a real story of rubber toys being tossed in the ocean and being studied as part of a science study.
    Uses:
This story could be used for teaching onomatopoeia
This could also be used during science to show how large a study could become.
This would be a great motivational story
    Pair With:
"Lets Get Pup! Said Kate" by Bob Graham
"Night in the Country" by Cynthia Rylant

Ducky is about plastic toys that get lost at sea. One of them Ducky floats for a long time then washes up on shore, is found and eventually fulfills its dream to be in a tub. Classroom connections-This really happened in 1992. This could segue into water channels and taking care of the environment.
