Well... quite frankly, this is one of those books which turned me off Naipaul. It might be an excess nationalistic spirit in me, but whatever... i found this books irritating at best and ...... nasty at worst.

Although I liked the straightforwardness of the author, I must admit I found this book to be a bit dark.

an interesting book.yes, the way naipaul chooses to see india definitely gets my blood pressure up.but he is right in a way.and he never does it without humour.thats what i love about this book.and then there's the incredible personal sadness as a disaporic writer without any roots but with the memory of several ones.....splendid.
