My job is moving into a more customer-based phase, so I picked this book up as a refresher in dealing with people. it's not nearly as in-depth as 'how to win friends and influence people' or as specific as many contemporary marketing texts. But is was useful to spend some time with the basic idea 'don't be a dick and most people won't think of you as one.' Common sense of course but in my field you often encounter people when they aren't at their best and the principals exposed in book like this one help keep you from falling into an adversarial role or of taking things personally. in fact, friendliness is the best preventative medicine for keeping customer relationships constructive and positive- even when things go wrong. So not the best work on the topic but a good refresher.
