This is the first of the Terry McMillan books that I read and the most memorable. I have been waiting for years for this book to be adapted to a movie. Out of all of the her wonderful novels, this one was the best in my opinion.

This project was a page turner for me to find out what happenened to Mildred's family!! This is an urban tale but it's something everyone can read. Cause we all have a MAMA!!!

This was Ms. McMillan's first novel and it introduced her breezy style and gift for dialogue. The financial woes of Mama and the maneuvering she did to try to get ends to at least face each other if not to meet, reminded me of my mother and my own struggles to do the same.

This is my favorite Terry McMillan book. I read it years ago but just purchased a new copy to add to my collection. Mama was a trip!

This book is real and I think Terry McMIllan's finest work.
