“A decent piece of Canadian Lit. Compelling and well-written, though not exactly enough to rock my socks off. I think that it's a pretty tricky thing when a male author takes on the heady task of writing first-person from the perspectives of several women. Still, I enjoyed it. ”

This book was based on a women who kept a diary during the era of 1930's and she shared about her life and her sister. Clara, the main character, goes through tuff events alone and at the end she only has her sister to look to. In all its a great book, a little of romance and heartbreak..”

The end was a little unsatisfying for me but I guess I shouldn't talk unless I'm willing to write my own book.”
“This was chosen by a Canadian member of our bookclub, who wanted to choose an author from her homeland!
It was excellent - a very different style, based on letters written between 2 sisters.
A ggod read.”
“A beautiful story, moving and captivating”

Now I'm reading Clara Callan with relief, as Clara although fiction is so clearly written by R.Wright I share in her horror to the turns life can take. One second okay the next not. Her shame is honest. At least she didn't walk into her difficulties willingly compared with the shallow White Masai.”
