“The books is an easy to read collection of ideas synthesized in around sixty "tips". Nothing new for an experienced programmer but it is worth reading as a confirmation for what you already know. Taking these advices and putting them into practice should indeed be part of your journeyman to master transformation. Not a "must read" but definitely recommended.”

“Lot's of really great tips for programmers, covering several areas, including: automating as much as possible, DRY (don't repeat yourself), testing and so much more. I've been programming for a while but this book is challenging me to think about some things in a new way.”

“This is a great book, Its sort of like a primer for a series of books that the pragmatic programmers eventually wrote out to be complete texts. Another great book for those starting out in the world of object-oriented programming and theory. Its not really about that, but it gets you into the culture either way.”

“This is a really good self-help book for aspiring programmers as well as battle-hardened veterans of the software industry. This book is popular not only because of the book's easy writing style but also for the pearls of wisdom that Hunt and Thomas have so eloquently described in this book. IMHO, this book belongs in every programmer's shelf.”
