“Review: To escape from the cold winter looming ahead, Qwill and his felines head back into the big city to take up residence at an aging hotel whose residents are seeking a patron to restore the crumbling building to its former glory. Along with some old friends (Amberina and Mary Duckworth from Junktown past, among others), Qwill meets a whole new batch of unusual characters: Mrs. Tuttle, the manager of the building; Isabelle the lush, who flashes him and then swears at him; Mrs. Buttons and her wicked cane...And when Qwill and KoKo begin to uncover clues that the murder/suicide that made the building famous might still be unsolved, it becomes all a man can do to stay alive down there!
Yay, I really liked this one! It was a relief after the last couple I'd listened to, which were entertaining but mildly ho hum. In this one, the cats were their charming and unruly selves, and the cast of new weirdos helped liven up the story. It was a lot of fun spending time in the car with Qwill and the cats for this story and I'm kind of sorry I'm taking a short break from the audio set to listen to some books by other people for a while. Looking forward to getting back to KoKo and YumYum in a few weeks!

“She must have been in a mood when she wrote this one because this book had a very weird vibe to it, and not in a pleasant way. Much darker than her other novels. I was left feeling as if there should have been more to the ending. All of her previous books, in this series, achieve closure at the end, leaving the reader at peace to wait for the next story. This one just did not have that. Hopefully, the books to follow will wrap some of it up.”

You can read and enjoy them in any order, but they make more sense chronologically.
These books are comfortable, fun, and give those of us who like to figure out "who done it" a little challenge. Throw in 2 cats...who could ask for more?!”
“I absolutely love the Cat Who... series. My only complaint is that there is no numbering on the books themselves (although that would be more of an issue for the publisher to resolve, it has nothing to do with the author). So in order to read them chronologically you are forced to do your own research - or use the handy little guide someone thoughtfully provided here. ;)
The characters are welcoming and relatable, the cats are heartbreakingly endearing, and the stories are simple and comfortable. Definitely one of my all-time favorite authors and series.”
“More attention to details surrounding things and a lot less time spent on the murder mystery itself. Interesting way to start the book even tho you knew it wasn't true and it was an easy out at the end. Still fairly light, easy read.”

However I thoroughly enjoyed the company of the Siamese (and admittedly Qwilleran's as well) while I read about them. Not sure if I'll pick up another Cat Who book, but overall a good light hearted beach read. ”

These really must be read in order to really be understood and enjoyed. Braun does something that many series authors don't.. just because a character has appeared in the previous 5 or 10 books do not assume they will survive the next one.. they have a tendacy to die.. also she develops all the characters and keeps up with them not just the main one (Jim Qwillerian).
This is the order they should be read:
