essential. obviously the google story is truly a one-of-a-kind. thus, some of the principles will not apply to 99% of startups. however there are many rich, valuable lessons to take away and they are laid out in an easy to read way. it reads as if you're reading a highlighted timeline, but with personality.

As impressive as Google itself. David A. Vise has certainly done a great job. He introduces you to Larry and Sergey very naturally. Although, Google is full of ultimately performance oriented programming...you don't need special brain juice to read this piece of art. I finished the book in 2 days, its so gripping. Oh, and for all Chicken lovers...there's a cool recipe in chapter 14 by Chef Charile. I must say, a must read!

This was a very good collection of stories on the history of Google. Unfortunately since the company has been so heavily covered in the press, it didn't cover much ground that I had not heard before.

Insightful. An understanding of what spurs the google economy, the birth, the growth, the buzz, the bane and the boon of google, its business risk, handy search tips. A must read for an indispensable tool of our daily life. A page turner.

Being a regular Google user and an avid fan, i was really looking forward to this book. This book came true to my expectations, but i guess it overdid it while doing so... This is almost a completely one sided view of the whole story. And a repeat of the same stuff in different words after some time. When i had completed about 60% of the book, i felt sometimes.. "have i read this before?". Overall, This is a good book to have all the info on your favorite dotcom, but it could well have been written in a better manner.
