The Google Story: Inside the Hottest Business, Media, and Technology Success of Our Time

by David Vise, Mark Malseed

Social phenomena happen, and the historians follow. So it goes with Google, the latest star shooting through the universe of trend-setting businesses. After carefully reading this book, one gets a picture of "How manage .com business". I belive that this is pure PR book from google. It also describes implicitly how Stanford can arrange big time Venture Capitalist for a start up business. I was shocked to know that Google paid a hefty amount to Yahoo in their initial days. Too much of Segery and Brin on every page but why so less exposure to Eric????????? Guess David(the Author of this book) and Eric are not on talking terms... :)

I would give this 3 stars because I dont think it is a well written book. All the stars are for what the book is ABOUT. Google indeed is a phenomenon. There is certainly some corporate talk that Google indulges in, but it is mainly driven through their "do no evil" motto. But the book is written as if written by a idolizing, love stricken teenager. As if he is viewing through rose tinted lenses, and not through the critical, well balanced eyes of a writer.
