This company has even entered our popular lexicon: as many note, "Google" has moved beyond noun to verb, becoming an action which most tech-savvy citizens at the turn of the twenty-first century recognize and in fact do, on a daily basis. essential. obviously the google story is truly a one-of-a-kind. thus, some of the principles will not apply to 99% of startups. however there are many rich, valuable lessons to take away and they are laid out in an easy to read way. it reads as if you're reading a highlighted timeline, but with personality.

What a lowzy book! It appears to be written by the PR department of Google. Brin and Page are portrayed as demi-gods who can only do good. The book gives little insights in the real things that matter.

After carefully reading this book, one gets a picture of "How manage .com business". I belive that this is pure PR book from google. It also describes implicitly how Stanford can arrange big time Venture Capitalist for a start up business. I was shocked to know that Google paid a hefty amount to Yahoo in their initial days. Too much of Segery and Brin on every page but why so less exposure to Eric????????? Guess David(the Author of this book) and Eric are not on talking terms... :)

I would give this 3 stars because I dont think it is a well written book. All the stars are for what the book is ABOUT. Google indeed is a phenomenon. There is certainly some corporate talk that Google indulges in, but it is mainly driven through their "do no evil" motto. But the book is written as if written by a idolizing, love stricken teenager. As if he is viewing through rose tinted lenses, and not through the critical, well balanced eyes of a writer.
