It took a little bit to get into this book but I really enjoyed the unexpected twist as the two sides of the story came together. Just like real life, these characters face complicated lives in which they must learn to deal.

If a Tree Falls at lunch Period is a really good book to me. It's about a girl, my age, finds out that she has a half brother that is African American. She doesn't care that he is African American she just cares that he is her brother and she loves him. I think this book is very sweet:)

A good read - the meat of the plot doesn't hit until over 1/2-way through but Choldenko's writing keeps you involved all the way.
