“Having read other books in this series, I was a little disappointed in the narrative. It felt drawn out and I think probably better addressed with the 2 couples being in separate books. Her other books in this series flow a lot better.
That said, the book is a good starting place for the overall world that she has set up and covers a LOT of ground in setting up the world and some of the interactions between the countries within the world and a solid introduction to the on-going references to characters and events in later books. I would add a 1/2 star to the book if shelfari allowed it.”
