In this book Ms. Frizzle takes the students on a wild ride through the electrical wires of their town. They start in a lamp and work their way to the generating station as well as how energy gets into the homes of all the townspeople. I found the parts of the book interesting where they give some supplemental information in notebook pages on the side.
I read this book in one of my summer classes and found it super informative and liked it a lot. I have also read many of the Magic School Bus books in elementary school, but I've seen many of the TV show episodes as well.
This book could be used in a science classroom to simplify a convoluted topic. It could be read under a document camera to show off the awesome illustrations. This could be used for middle schools or even high school to explain a topic that we all use everyday, but may not have much information. This could be used in conjunction with an engineering unit.
