Liked It“In this adventure, Ms. Frizzle takes the class on a guided tour of where electricity is made and then shows them how it is used in daily life. VERY detailed. |
“ In this book Ms. Frizzle takes the students on a wild ride through the electrical wires of their town. They start in a lamp and work their way to the generating station as well as how energy gets into the homes of all the townspeople. I found the parts of the book interesting where they give some supplemental information in notebook pages on the side.
I read this book in one of my summer classes and found it super informative and liked it a lot. I have also read many of the Magic School Bus books in elementary school, but I've seen many of the TV show episodes as well.
This book could be used in a science classroom to simplify a convoluted topic. It could be read under a document camera to show off the awesome illustrations. This could be used for middle schools or even high school to explain a topic that we all use everyday, but may not have much information. This could be used in conjunction with an engineering unit. ”

Appropriate grade levels- 1 and 2
This book has no awards.
Summary- Ms. Frizzle takes her class on a journey through the power system. She shows them how power gets from the plant to the outlet in your house. She also shows them what uses power and how we don't even realize we're using it, we just flip a switch and we've got it.
Review- The Magic School Bus books take the students on a journey through the pictures an the story line. It makes the students feel as if they too are on the trip with Ms' Frizzle's class and captivates their interests. It is a great series to get students motivated about learning.
Uses in the Classroom- Have the students map out the course of electrical current.
- Make a list of all of the things in the classroom that use electricity
- Take about conservation of electricity”

Grade Level: 2-3
Summary: This book is about a group of students and their teacher, Miss Frizzle. Their magic school bus takes them on a wild adventure exploring electricity.
Classroom Uses: This book is a cross between a graphic novel and a fiction children's story. It is a fun and informative way for children to learn about a specific science topic. Sometime science can be overwhelming for children. The Magic School Bus can make it more manageable and keep it fun! There are also movies that go along with the book for an extension!”
