“This is an awesome book! I have read about a month ago and i loved it! I also saw the movie in 3rd grade. My favorite part was when the boy finds shiloh. I feel so bad he was beaten. This story is very cute and touching(:I would reccomend this to all of my peers, boys and girls because it is very cute, but sad.”

“Summary: This story is about a dog whom is beaten by his owner. The dog eventually runs away and runs into a little boy on the road. The father of the boy won’t let him keep the dog and has to return it. After the dog runs away again and returns to the boy he decided to keep the dog hidden in a shed up the road. Eventually his father finds out about the hidden dog and has to help his son. Reason Chosen: I chose this book because I remember reading it as a class when I was in elementary school. I absolutely loved this story and the bond created between the dog and the boy. I think the author wrote a great story and makes every reader feel the love between the two throughout the story.Use in Classroom: This story is a very versatile story you can use in the classroom. I think I would use it possibly as a book that each child reads on their own and we collaborate as a class. The kids will easily be able to understand the story and can do different projects with different chapters throughout the story. I also believe that this story can be used as a read aloud because it has a great story to keep the students involved throughout each reading session.”
