what can I say, it had a good story line about a man who is hearing the voice of a woman that he has never meet not seen. It goes through his emotions and how he grows as a person.

This book is really gross at times, although the idea of someone talking to you from far away is pretty cool.

The beginning starts are really slow but it gets better towards the middle. I wish it ended better. I liked it but it was my least favorite of Yamada's.

I wanted to read this book because i really liked "Strangers" written by Taichi Yamada too.
It was strange, full of mystery and i enjoyed it a lot.
But on the other hand i was very dissapointed because i didn't meet the girl, i still don't know who was she, why was she so alone..And i don't know why Tsuneo was so "open", i mean why did her feelings entered in Tsuneo's heart?
It's a shocking book i could say, but an extraordinary one too.

A tad disturbing. Finished the book in one sitting, but felt like I had eaten something really disgusting. I'm sure some booklovers know the feeling.

i find a lot of common threads between the thinking of Yamada and the malayalam writer O V Vijayan. I have always pondered on the 'scanty' emotions that Yamada has so clearly brought out in this book. All in all an intense food for thought!

very simple in terms of style and format, i found this book required a receptive mind to read. the story is atmospheric more than anything, and it hits you on an intuitive level rather than a rational one. the story and the characters are ‘lightly drawn’, but nevertheless there is real depth of human experience and emotion.
