  • Julie: After the death of her mother, Julie is burdened with looking after the house as well as her 3 siblings. Can't say she does too badly, though entombing the dead body in a trunk filled with cement was surely not the best solution. She however manages to keep the siblings together until the very end when her boyfriend, Dereck tells on their secret. Managing the household along with all the things that occupy a teenage girl, she is the most memorable charachter in the novel.
