The Spenser series is consistently good and quite often stunning. The best of the modern PI series. I've followed this series since day one and not missed a single one. All boos are stand alone stories and can be read in any order but there are some continuity points between books.

Out of the entire Spenser library, this one gets one of my top recommendations, although you really should read the entire series from the very beginning. This book is great with its Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven theme, and the drawing in of a number of great characters from this long series. Great stuff.
