It was sadly disappointing. I mean I expected more from Sherrilyn Kenyon first off and while it was a cute story with the soul purpose of smut it wasn't that good. So the point of this book is a little Christmas smut but come on... I think all the authors could have done better. Let's start with Santa Baby. A PI is hired to steal a husbands mistress by the wife. Right off the bat... groan. And of course, said PI falls for mistress who just happens to be in the dark about the wife. Figures. So PI and "mistress" fall for each other. Like I said... could have been better. Kenyon's Love Bytes, started out pretty cute with a computer "geek" and a secretary (I think) liking each other. The geek wasn't really geek material as he was a major hottie in need of a makeover with said secretary helps him with... at his request because he is color blind as his evil little sister picks his outfits for him and like I said she is evil. lol Okay that was funny. See it is mostly a ruse as he wants to take her out. Things pretty much heat up from there and I liked this story but it seems to lacking in the standards of Kenyon. Hmmmm Okay Phillips' Naughty Under the Mistletoe was actually pretty good. Toni (the woman) goes after her soon to be ex-boss because frankly she is lonely and she is only looking for a one night stand. She is also trying out some helpful... be sexy tips. Her mistake... kissing the wrong twin... the result... a hot man following her around very interested in more. This story wasn't all that bad. It could have been so much better but each story has the woman being so emotionally fragile that it bothered me. Smith's A Christmas Charade was probably my favorite because the spy Mrs. Vail (a widow) helps rescue Mr. Maxwell (a viscount, though she doesn't know it) who is also a spy which was captured. The man has been in prison and she's been a widow for 2 years. Naturally you would get down and dirty right? Whatever, they did. They truly did. He was all about seeing her again but once she realized how their stations in society differed she didn't meet him later.... much to his torture. After going to another war, hoping to find her he comes home and is talked into proposing to a long time acquaintance. Then he goes to Christmas at his sister's home... only to find his sisters new friend turn out to be Mrs. Vail. I really preferred the beginning of this story to the end but it was still good. A little less whiny. Take it or leave it. I don't think it is a must read or have.
