This is a book about a young spanish girl that believes her cat can speak spanish. I like this book, it can relate to many students I remember believing that my animals talked to me when I was growing up. “I am reading this fictional book with one of my guided reading groups at school. They started reading the book before me so my friends, Jose and Laura gave me a great summary of the book until I was able to catch up. Apparently the main character in the book has a talking cat and so far she is not sure if she should tell her parents about this. I can't wait to find out if she tells her parents and how her parents react to such news. This book is by one of my class's favorite authors, Gary Soto.”
