i always enjoy reading johansen's novels...and i love the way she writes about her characters...first, i fell in love with eve and joe's characters, now, i'm falling for jane and trevor's...
the author indeed manages to build suspense all throughout the story and at the same time establish the image of the characters along the way...this is another quick and delightful read!

Thought the plot was well written and the characters were enjoyable. My big issue with the book was that the book summary made it sound like the book was about Eve and Joe when it really centered around their foster/adopted child Jane and the serial killer that's after her.

All in all I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to picking up Countdown, which continues on with the character Jane and hopefully more Trevor.

Although this book is advertised an Eve Duncan book this book is mainly about Jane her foster daughter. The book starts off with a bang but then among the history of a 2000 year old death it loses somthing along the way. A crazed killer is killing all women who resemble this 2000 year old dead woman and Jane happens to look like her. At one point I thought it would have some sort of big explosive climax but kind of left the reader hanging. Yes, the bad guy bit it, yes the good guys won but there was almost no point in Eve's part of the book. She reconstructed a skull only to state "Dear God in Heaven." and then the book never explains. It's the cliffhanger from hell and makes this one book that cannot stand alone, which is my idea of an excellent thriller.

I am not a fan of anything science fiction or anything that is not realistic. I just can't get into it if it is anything of the supernatural and of the future. I do like a lot of Johansen's books, but this one just did not grab me.

What a great mystery. WAsnt really sure who the villain was until the end. Jane McGuire is the image of a screen actress that was killed in the Vesuvius eruption in Pompeii. A modern serial killer is on a mission to kill everyone that looks like Cira, the dead Greek actress. The killer is stalking Jane. How to trap him becomes the mystery and includes new faces(who is bad and who is good is to be determined)(OOther book about Cira is COUNTDOWN)

I loved this book and it makes me ready to read Jane's story in Count Down. This is a book of reoccuring characters. Eve Duncan and Joe Quinn. Their daughter Jane (adopted daughter) is 17 and the target of a psycho path who thinks she is the reincarnation of a woman who died 2000 years ago.

I enjoyed the story, I felt connected to the characters and it left the next relationship between Jane and Trevor open. It has suspense, intrique, intrapment, and murder. The story line moved quickly and it had some emotional ties to it.

The story line revolves around a family trying to keep their family in tact. A street kid who seems quite old for her age and parents trying to allow her to be independent and yet protected at the same time.

Its a great read and I would recommend it. I would start with the first books where Eve and Joe get together because there is history there as well that will help establish or relate to the relationship dynamics in this story. But the reader doesnt have to read them to understand this story, it just helps in my opinion.

Iris Johanson is a pheonomenal writer! I had doomed myself to never reading again because I could not find a book that just plain captivated me until I found her series of books. If you like CSI or Law and Order give Iris a try I assure you, you will fall in love with her stories. She is the J.K. Rowlings of criminology!
