“It was much more melodramatic than her following books: The ones who betrayed the sisters are rewarded instead of punished. There isn't much humor, and it mostly stems from the cattiness between a title sister and her rival. The book falls in despair rather quickly: Ten pages in, I couldn't believe all the bad luck the sisters had accrued. Austen's style evidently matured quickly.”
