Dark Guardian is the story of legendary Carpathian hunter Lucian and his lifemate Jaxon.

I really liked this story. Jaxon (Jax for short) is a tough-as-nails, driven cop, and Lucian is the twin brother of Gabriel from book 8.

I really enjoyed the human element in this book. The human predator that has stalked Jax her entire life long is a former Navy SEAL. He is well-trained and fixated on Jax, and has dispatched everyone close to her. His threat is very real and continues...

I like the Dark series okay, but I much prefer her GhostWalkers and Drake Sisters series (The Sisters, especially, since I'm a Wiccan and she actually did some research on it before writing those ones.). To me, they have more variation, although they can become a bit too repetitive as well. I don't go out of my way for any of her books anymore, but if one catches my eye at the store, I might pick it up.

You're right. I don't usually like to say someone's a terrible writer because I know just how hard it is. This series is like the poor cousin of Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. Not that the storyline doesn't have merit. I like how her vampires come about and the Carpathian mythology but each couple seem to be very much like the last. Caveman Carpathian meets modern, strong-willed woman.

lol, nope definitely not alone...Feehan's a mostly terrible writer, but her Dark books are way fun anyway, and the whole different twist she puts on the usually overdone vampire thing makes them worth the reading...
