Didn’t Like It “I found this book lacking and unbelievable. I know it is fantasy, sci-fi, whatever but still the heroine adjusted too easily to the outside world. I was waiting and waiting for her to freeze and run to get back to her 'sisters'. The end didn't finish the book for me, blah.” see full review » see other reviews » |

However, a lot of things began to go wrong and they realize there are many plots by Dr. Whitney that they have to overcome. Christine Feehan wrote a realistic, true to life story about intense and sometimes dark characters. We don't have to always love them to enjoy and understand them! ”

“This book was probably the hardest to read so far. Jack Norton was tortured quite a bit before he escaped but his brother Ken was almost dead when they found him. He is so scarred and emotionally damaged that you just want to hold him and make it better. I loved the setup for meeting Marigold "Mari". I also love how the sub-plot advancement and the glimpse of Peter Whitney in person. I also thought that the acknowledgement of both teams suspensions about the man were a very nice touch as well. I will not be sorry to see this man get what he deserves. I also hope that those that are protecting them also get what they so richly deserve. It would never happen in real life but this is fiction and I can hope that the rich and powerful will be punished for all the things that have been done to these people. I was glad to see that Ken and Mari got there HEA even though there was a few pages there that I wasn't sure it was going to happen. Keep the tissues handy because this story is an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. ”

“So confusing!!! I got this out of the library thinking it sounded interesting, but no where on the blurb does it say its the middle book in a big series! It didn't take long for me to figure out its part of a series though- left me so confused and so lost. I just skimmed the whole thing to find out if Mari escaped, but really it was really quite wordy and boring and the little action there was so skimmed! Doubt I'ld read the others.”

“Sort of believable, but a little hard to get in to because of the 'heavy' romance. Not really my kind of book, but not a bad read.”

Christine Feehan is the master of paranormal suspense. I just love her books and this one was a great story. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. ”
