“Now i know why they call this the quintessential science fiction piece which led the pack. I loved the layers, with each character lovingly crafted and psychologically mapped out for depth. I can't believe it took me this long to pick it up and read it!!”

Rivals the Lord of the rings in creativity and construction. Themes relevant to ecology, politics, and human nature are excellently thought provoking. Makes you glad to realize there are at the least 5 more of them to read after your done with it.”

Reading it post-9/11, changes your perspective of the desert-dwelling fanatics who were waiting on a leader. I would be curious to know of Herbert's knowledge of militant Islamic fundamentalists.”
