“Herbert is a genius. The scale of this story is the definition of the word epic. Rivals the Lord of the rings in creativity and construction. Themes relevant to ecology, politics, and human nature are excellently thought provoking. Makes you glad to realize there are at the least 5 more of them to read after your done with it.”

“There is better sci fi being written today but for 1965, this book was smashing. Reading it post-9/11, changes your perspective of the desert-dwelling fanatics who were waiting on a leader. I would be curious to know of Herbert's knowledge of militant Islamic fundamentalists.”
