A timeless classic, effortlessly painting an image of a bleak and distant future full of intrigue, assasination, betrayal, epic battles and courage. Dune is easy to read despite its number of pages (more than 500) has a great storyline full of very believable characters that keep you turning the pages, a sci-fi thrill-ride that won't disappoint. The film was equally fantastic, a must-read for anyone who calls themselves a serious fan of the genre.

When I was younger and at a seminar in Canada with my parents a man recommended this book to me. He said since I liked Eragon I should read this book, and I did. It's a great read, but the rest I really get lost in. Oh well, I was never one for all that sci-fi business.

It's a great idea for a book, but there's just not enough going on. It's a good book; it just seems like there is a lot of talking, rather then exciting things going on to grip the reader.

Very very good book. But it is so hard core science fiction. I'm not nerdy enough to say that I loved this book. But it was so good. It's very very well written, it's characters are deep and interesting; as is the plot. A good read, a classic book. And when you finish it you can see why.
