“A great saga...the movie was totally disappointing.”
“this book is off the hookvery interesting!”
“It really had a scope that was beyond much else out there, except Asimov's "Foundation" series, though much better in my opinion. Its still good reading whether you are in to sci-fi or not.”
“Is it me or is it that Star wars looks like a Hollywood spin off to Dune?”
“Very well said. I salute you. Oh and read "Dune". Its pretty damn good too :)”
“Don't read only this book!!! Read also the others which follows (Dune Messiah, The children of Dune etc...) I don't know what you think but personally, I believe that It is not every days that you find people as Herbert which have a global vision of our world”
“THIS is one of only a few books i like well enough to read more than once and i have read this book 6 time starting in 1979 while still in highschool.the book changes each time i read it with more life experience.”
“To my mind, this book really doesn't belong in the sci-fi category. It's right up there with Machiavelli's The Prince as a treatise on how to gain, wield and maintain power. Only, unlike Machiavelli, who concentrates on political power, Herbert goes into not only political power, but commercial power, religious power, military power and the power of the individual and how they all interact with each other. The scope is incredible. This should be a political science must read.”
“This series has always been my favorite. I never begin reading it again unless I know I will have the time to read all six books. Once I start I can't put them down! I end up sleepless until I finish all six books! I had began reading his sons books but wasn't as impressed. Although enjoyed the continuation of the series.”
“By this I mean the whole series until Herbert died and his son took over. five or six book all of them great but the first book I think is the best, in the whole newness of the adventure”
