It wasn't good it keeps repeting the same thing. They go somewhere and get kidnapped or anything that involves being taken away! It's about this kid that has a cat that can talk and when he finds out he's just like ok... he's not surprised but when he finds out he's a cat that can time travel he has got more expression but still he's not very surprised all he does is ask, "can all cat's time travel?" He's curious but not surprised and I mean if you find out your cat can talk won't you be like "WOH!!! What's wrong with you c-cat!!!" You'd be scared not just say "Cool". So I think that the author dosn't have enough expression in his characters. Moving on, it's also about them time traveling to different times and they come across problems which they repeat too much. But if your intrested in that type of stuff try to read it but personally I hated it!

Gareth, a fire-eyed black cat, with a streak of white fur in the shape of an ankh, belongs to Jason. One day when Jason is banished to his room for disobedience, Gareth snuggles up to him and begins talking! Jason always suspected he could talk (when he was good and ready to do it)...and so begins Gareth explanation of a cat's 'nine lives'. Not really lives, but the chance to visit nine historically diverse time periods. Gareth agrees to take Jason along (with a glance into his mesmerizing eyes) on his expeditions through time to some far away places in the distant past: Egypt, 2700 B.C.,Rome and Britain, 55 B.C., Ireland, 411 A.D., Japan, A.D., Italy 1468, Peru 1555, The Isle of Man 1588, Germany, 1600 and America, 1775. Along their journey, Gareth and Jason (and you, the reader) will meet some very famous people before they became famous or infamous, as the story goes.

At the end of this time-travel throughout history, Gareth releases Jason from the spell, and finds himself back in his room wondering if it all was just a dream

I read Time cat by Lloyd Alexander. This book is fantastic. It’s about a boy named Jason and his cat Gareth; Gareth tells Jason he can visit nine different lives anywhere, anytime, and any century. They go on a magnificent journey around the world. I would recommend this book to people who like cats and time travel.

    Short but historical, show-not-tell.

    Book Recommendation: Time Cat

Do you have a pet cat?

Don’t you think it’s funny when they disappear into thin air and you can’t find them anywhere, and after a while you see it washing its paws by the window? Time Cat, a fantasy book by Lloyd Alexander has an explanation for this.

“Where do you think cats go when you’re looking all over and you can’t find them? Gareth replied. “And have you ever noticed a cat appear suddenly in a room when you were sure it was empty? Or disappear, when you can’t imagine where he went?”

Gareth, a pet cat, reveals to his owner Jason that he has magic powers. He can talk-and time travel into 9 different places! Gareth then takes Jason on a magical adventure all over the world. They visit the Pharos of Egypt, the temples of Greece and the palaces in Japan-and more!

I liked Time Cat because it is a original and magical adventure. If you like fantasy, you should try this. It’s also really easy to follow.

If you liked Time Cat try these books by the same author:
    -The Westmark Triology
    -The Arkadians

    Thanks for reading!

I really thought it was unique when the author thought of nine different places the cat can live in instead of nine actual lives.
